William R. Clark, known to all as Bill, was born March 13, 1946, in Goshen, Indiana, to Raymond F. and Ina I. Clark. He grew up on a farm on C.R. 11, beside Mud Lake.
Bill attended Harrison Elementary, Wakarusa Middle School, and Wakarusa High School, graduating in 1965. It was at Wakarusa that he discovered his love of running track. He went on to earn a cross country and track scholarship to Murray State University, where he was a member of Sigma Pi Epsilon fraternity and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
At Murray State he met Merry Watson, and the two were married on August 16, 1970. After graduation, Bill began his career at Liberty Homes, followed by CTS Corporation, DMP Corporation, and Kontek Ecology Systems. He never saw himself as retired and worked as a consultant until just before his hospitalization. Bill took great pride in his yard and maintaining it. Above all, he loved helping others.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond F. and Ina I. Clark, and his brothers, James J. and Leroy J. Clark. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Merry Clark; his daughter, Jessica (Marc) Belanger; grandchildren; Ian, Taylor, and Autumn; nieces; Stephanie (Tom) Archer; and Tawna (Denny) Plank.
