York – William “Troy” Holland, passed peacefully on May 27, 2023, at the Wayne T Patrick hospice house, after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Troy was born Sunday, Sept 11, 1960, in San Antonio, TX. He lived throughout the Southeast, finally ending up in York Co, SC in 1975.
He had a kind heart and giving soul. Always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. He loved his friends, family, animals and fixing things. He enjoyed car shows, thrift stores and flea markets. A welder for 40+ years, he was employed by R R Equipment since 2003.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Lynn Holland Haselden (Meyers); father, Billy Gene Long, and adoptive father Jerry Allen Holland.
Services for Troy will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with the Reverend Randy Devinney officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park – Hollis Lakes. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
He is survived by siblings Terri Holland Smith (Troy), Todd Holland (Tangie), Lisa Long Miller (Rich), multiple nieces and nephews; long-time companion, Debbi Hawks; and his cat, Stinker Bell. All of whom miss him greatly. It was an honor to have been a part of his life.
